Dress your little Jayhawks fan up for gameday with this Kansas Jayhawks Baby Jay Baby Hair Barrette. This Baby Hair Barrette features a Baby Jay logo on white ribbon background on two hair clippies.
Wanting a sidekick for Big Jay, Baby Jay was created by KU student Amy Hurst. The mascot introduced itself to the world during Homecoming in 1971. Baby Jay was hatched out of a giant egg at the 50-yard line during halftime of the Kansas vs. Kansas State football game, and has been cheering on the Jayhawks with Big Jay ever since. The Baby Jay logo, which debuted in 2010, is the most popular among children, with baby clothes being the top-seller of Baby Jay logo merchandise.
