Add this cute Kansas Jayhawks Baby Jay Kids Hair Barrette to your young Jayhawks fan's gameday outfit. Featuring a Baby Jay on white background with team color ribbon bow, this Kids Hair Barrette has all the Jayhawks spirit your little fan needs to show her pride.
Wanting a sidekick for Big Jay, Baby Jay was created by KU student Amy Hurst. The mascot introduced itself to the world during Homecoming in 1971. Baby Jay was hatched out of a giant egg at the 50-yard line during halftime of the Kansas vs. Kansas State football game, and has been cheering on the Jayhawks with ever since. The Baby Jay logo, which debuted in 2010, is the most popular among children, with baby clothes being the top-seller of Baby Jay logo merchandise.
