In the Radnor Township suburb of Philadelphia lies Nova Nation, home of Villanova University, a private research university founded by the Order of Saint Augustine in 1842. Villanova University prides itself in providing a highly-ranked education and a nationally acclaimed athletics program. The Villanova Wildcats play in the Big East Conference and compete against historical Philly rivals in the Philadelphia Big 5. In 2016 the Villanova Widlcats men's basketball team won the national championship for the first time since 1985, and Villanova Basketball reclaimed the NCAA national championship title again in 2018. After a student contest was held at VU in 1926, former All-American defensive end, Edward Hunsinger, hit upon the nickname "Wildcats." Today, Will D. Cat appears nightly to rile up the Villanova team crowd; as the legend goes, "I am a WildcatI AM VILLANOVA!"
